Why coworking is essential for business growth

We’ve seen over the last few years how much flexibility in the workplace has increased. We’re seeing hotspot desks appear, flexible arrangements made between employers and employees, and increasing numbers of staff having the opportunity to work from home.

Just when we thought coworking was phasing its way out, it’s making its re-entry to the workplace even stronger.

Mara Hauser, CEO of coworking design consultant Workplace Studio, says that hybrid workspaces are here to stay and that we can expect the highest level of traffic we’ve ever seen in the coworking world.

Over the last few years we’ve seen a significant increase in the number of employees working from home. In 2020, 4 in 10 New Zealanders were working from home. With workplace restrictions easing, it's only expected that employees would want to maintain flexible working, while keeping connectivity with others.

“There is a collective understanding that the traditional work model will not fully return to its pre-pandemic state”, says Mara Hauser in a Q&A with AllWork.Space. “It’s continually evolving and the offering to employees of a coworking space as a solution can allow for increased productivity, more effective utilisation of square footage, and act as both a recruiting and employee retention tool.”

We can see things are changing in the workplace and we believe coworking is an innovative way of the future for employers. We’re excited to see the new way of employment evolve and the many branches of connection between employees and industries fulfilled.
